Welcome to AETN'S Professional Development

The Arkansas Department of Education has partnered with the Arkansas Educational Television Network to meet the professional development needs of K-12 licensed educators by offering research-based, technology-delivered professional development courses to improve academic and teaching knowledge and skills of certified personnel.


We invite you to browse through the "anytime, anywhere" online professional development offerings located in AETN's educational portal. Please keep in mind that new courses are added as they are developed or approved. All courses located within this educational portal have been approved by ADE for professional development. The rewarding of professional development credit; however, is solely at the discretion of the local school district.

Arkansas IDEAS Learn Now!

InfoSource, Incorporated operates and maintains the How To Master Content Libraries that provide interactive online professional development courses that are research-based, rigorous, and consistent with the Southern Regional Education Board Multi-State Online Professional Development Standards, and will be delivered and administered through the AETN Educational Services Portal.

 

Each Content Library contains courses, sections, and tracks. Each course offering has a brief course description to assist the educator in selecting the level and type of training that they require. The Content Libraries include

 

  • Integrating Technology in the Classroom    
  • Digital Literacy
  • National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers

As technology content is updated, new courses will be added to the Content Libraries.

AETN Scholar Channel

AETN Scholar is Arkansas's first and only fulltime channel devoted to educators. Scholar provides programs educators can use in the classroom, as well as programs that can be used for professional development.

Annenberg

AETN in partnership with The Annenberg Foundation provides a professional development training program designed to enhance Arkansas educator's professional and personal skill sets. Free of charge to Arkansas educators, the Professional Development Series offers approximately 30 hours per week of professional development programs on the Scholar digital channel and more than 850 hours of Web-based training courses within AETN's professional development library.

We suggest that you take a moment and browse through the Annenberg offerings for online professional development. The Arkansas Department of Education has approved all professional development programs offered through the AETN educational portal. Assessments and professional development hours will be available for each course; however, the rewarding of professional development credit is solely at the discretion of the local school district.

PBS TeacherLine

PBS TeacherLine is the premier resource offering professional development courses online to individual PreK-12 teachers and districts. Our specially trained, certified facilitators lead over 90 top-quality, standards-based courses that span the entire curriculum: Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, Science, Instructional Technology, and Instructional Strategies. Coursework can cover a complete sequence of study or address a specific requirement, depending on a teacher's or district's needs.

The Arkansas Department of Education has approved all of the PBS TeacherLine courses for Professional Development. There are a limited number of ADE prioritized course seats available at no charge for teachers who are teaching in selected School Improvement locations. Once the teachers in the selected schools are provided the opportunity to enroll, any remaining seats will be available to all teachers until filled.
